Anyone who has ever attempted to travel through Europe on a budget has probably ended up staying in some fairly strange places. But nothing weâve ever experienced can top this proposal for âBarcelona Rock,â Poland-based UGO Architectureâs entry in an international competition to design a âbohemian hostel for backpackers.â While from the outside the building looks like a strange part of the natural landscape, the structure contains fifty rooms with windows, a swimming pool, spa, gym, cinema, pub, and a small climbing wall for beginners (advanced climbers are meant to scale the hostelâs exterior). Let us know in the comments what you think of the concept.
A typical room I guess it's not really good idea to take the rooms on top if you're afraid of the heights. The structure I have to admit I still can't see where the windows are. Rock climbing on the side of the tower This is an excellent idea for all rock climbers, if they don't want to use the boring old stairs, or if the elevator doesn't work. Viewing deck Wow! This really looks amazing. I guess I would like see this hotel being built next month when I go to Barcelona. Street level And this is how the hotel would look like in the street level. Sadly, this doesn't look as impressive as the view from top.
