Some of the Most Extreme Russian Hipsters

Hipsters are taking over the whole world! For some time Russia was safe from this craze, but apparently, judging by the images below, it has reached this country as well. And, of course, as it often happens, everything is weirder, crazier, tougher and more extreme in Russia. Aside from fancy young people that clam to know it all and are the alternative to modern consumer society, despite the fact that they became mainstream long time ago, in Russia, everyone are hipsters, even the homeless people! Necropolis

An international exhibition of funeral art and ritual supplies took place sometime around Halloween in Moscow, Russia. Beside the coffins and crosses there was also a catwalk organized and models were all dressed up like grieving widows. A bit dark and twisted if you ask me, but apparently it went on well and there were many visitors to the event. Have a look at the images below to see what it looked like.

Generation gap in Russia

These great photos come from the “Life in Russia” album of a photographer Alexey Petrosian that became popular by his photography of St. Petersburg and now continues in the same manner. He takes photos of Russian people in the streets and he makes simple observations of their emotions, feelings, generation gap and differences in beliefs of young and old people when it comes to politics, and life in general. Theses are very moving photos and I hope you’ll enjoy watching them.

Only in Russia

Have a look at these crazy pictures of Russian people in some of the weirdest and most bizarre actions. Some of these situations are even a bit sad in my opinion. And for those bad moments you should blame vodka, the traditional Russian drink, and for others just strange human nature! The strangest thing is the ease of living and how people are not reacting to some strange and obviously weird situations. They seem to find it rather usual and conventional. For example, seeing a naked man in the street, when the weather is cold and there is snow would make me say “What the f…?” but not these people. They simply continue their polite conversation like everything is fine. icon smile
