Green building (also known as green construction or sustainable building) is the practice of creating structures and using processes that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building’s life-cycle: from siting to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation, and deconstruction. This practice expands and complements the classical building design concerns of economy, utility, durability, and comfort.

Visiting Kamchatka
The famous traveler Ivan Dementievsky brought us absolutely stunning photographs of Kamchatka from his journey to this amazing peninsula well know for its numerous volcanoes. Here on these photos you can see these volcanoes a few minutes before the eruption and quiet hills in the morning mist. The moments caught in these photos are simply electric and filled with anticipation of the terrible disaster, but still so calm and tranquil that it seems like a scene from a fairy tale. Enjoy!
Breathtaking Journeys by Steve Winter
Steve Winter, well known photographer for National Geographic was named the wild life photographer of the year. Besides from taking photos of animals and beautiful nature landscapes, he makes astonishing photography of the people on his exciting journeys to the different parts of the world. Have a look at this great and breathtaking photo gallery below and you’ll see his obvious talent and why he received this prestigious award. I have to admit that I’m a bit jealous of his job. He actually has what is in my opinion a dream job! He gets to travel around the world and learn about different cultures and styles of life while taking photos, and he gets payed for doing that!
Irina Vinnik’s sketchbook
Irina Vinnik comes from Saint Petersburg, Russia. She is an artist, a designer and an illustrator. She illustrates stunning nature themes, combined with beautiful typography and abstract shapes. She also published a children’s book containing worldwide stories and legends told through breath-taking graphics. I really enjoyed watching her work it has so many details and there are almost no blank spots. It’s like watching a beautiful and harmonious arabesque with overlapping ornaments that give birth to other ornaments… I hope you’ll like these too.
Cute little monsters
This is what insects look like under microscope! They look like aliens, monsters and creatures from science fiction movies. I always thought that those people that designed and created aliens and monsters in movies are really geniuses, but it turns out they actually have pretty good microscopes. I don’t know if it’s just me or do you find them in some weird and twisted way cute too? Also, I expected the Dog flea to look like a little redneck and to sing “Food on the corner”, but it didn’t pan out.

Dynamic photos of surfers in Australia
Surfing is a surface water sport where a person (the surfer) moves along the face of a breaking ocean wave (the surf). Surfing also takes place on rivers, riding a standing wave. Australian photographer Mark Tippl took these great and breathtaking underwater pictures of people surfing and snorkeling. Photographer probably got tired of the usual surfer photos taken from above the water and he decided to add some dynamics to his work by photographing the waves at the Australian coast from a new angle – beneath the surface of the water. I have to admit it looks really great and I wish I could dive into this water while watching the photos.
Music, nature, love…
From 10th to 14th of June in the region of Kaluga the legendary open-air festival of free art “Pustie Holmi” (Hollow Hills) took place. This unusual and colorful festival was held for the traditional eighth time. We present you pictures from the festival, which were taken by photo-blogger Ilya Melnikov. Enjoy watching these amazing photos that will take you to a journey of love, music and nature. This festival looks to me like a hippie commune a little bit, but it still seems great nevertheless!

Amazing caves
A cave or cavern is a natural underground void large enough for a human to enter. Some people suggest that the term cave should only apply to cavities that have some part that does not receive daylight; however, in popular usage, the term includes smaller spaces like sea caves, rock shelters, and grottos.
In touch with nature
Every true photography lover will find this images deeply moving and inspiring. Have a look at these great black and white pictures showing the beauty of nature and the delicate connection of human with it. We’ve came out of nature, but we seem to have forgotten our origins.
