Have you heard of eye jewelry? If you think your eyes aren’t sparkly enough and you really want that pop out effect, maybe this the right thing for you. A company is offering contact lenses fitted with real diamonds and gold. Dubbed ‘eye jewelery’, the bling eyewear sees 18 diamonds studded onto an 18-carat gold plate on a special lens. Created by Shekhar Eye Research in Mumbai, the ‘La SER’ brand lenses can be custom-made at a cost of $15,000 a pair in four designs of diamonds on white gold, diamonds on yellow gold, or just gold or yellow gold.

Sacred river Ganges
Situated on the banks of the river Ganges, Varanasi and Haridwar are considered by all Hindus to be the holiest cities in Hinduism. The Ganges is mentioned in the Rig-Veda, the earliest of the Hindu scriptures. It appears in the Nadistuti sukta (Rig Veda 10.75), which lists the rivers from east to west. In RV 6.45.31, the word Ganga is also mentioned, but it is not clear whether this reference is to the river. Also, people scatter ashes of loved ones here. George Harrison of The Beatles had his ashes scattered in the Ganges by his family in a private ceremony soon after his death.
School buses in India
Probably first reaction to this photos is saying that it is terrible how children are being transported like a cattle in small wagons, but if you think about the situation of this country and it’s culture you might even look at these vehicles as regular transportation car. These small yellow tricycles in India have the same role as yellow school buses in America. This culture, common throughout the world is one that has grown organically, where distances are short enough to be cycled (where litigation is minimal!) and where homebrew transportation is common.
India or Utopia
Usually when we go on a trip or travel to some well know touristic destination, we all take somewhat the same photos. But it is the true artist who manages to see beyond the obvious and catch existing beauty that lies within. These photos of India look like they have been taken by the hand of an optimist, or simply someone who is able to look a bit deeper. I wish we could use photoshop in the real life to get rid of the poverty, illness, and all the problems that we have and that we live with today. But, it remains the privilege of a photographer.
