You should be able to tell from the headline that this was a particularly bad year for fashion at the New York Fashion Week. Every year there are few unsuccessful attempts of creating an absolute master piece that will be so unique and completely different from everything that was ever made in the history of fashion, but this year there were even 50 such cases of terrible fashion fails. Many fashion critics and stylist have said that the year of 2012 is a year of “Fashiongeddon” and they are right, because most of the outfits look like costumes from Sci-Fi movies from the 60s. And if these images alone aren’t enough to make you laugh, just imagine the price tags on these clothes!

Crazy Styles From The Alternative Hair Show

The rather alarming Alternative Hair Show was held in Moscow on Wednesday, September 28th 2011, while modern day Marie Antoinettes struted their stuff and presented the wildest hairstyles ever seen. I can’t even imagine occasion at which it would be even remotely possible to pull off look like this. If you expect to see some curls or classic fringes in the images below, you’ll be quite surprised cause the stylists in this show were more “chimney brush” oriented.

Some might argue if it’s less than 50% hair, it should be called hat or at least wig instead of hair style. Anyhow, I’m pretty sure it won’t be long till Lady Gaga recreates some of these looks.

Aside from unusual hair styles, the models were presenting unusual clothes which were in some cases completed with body paint, peacock and bird feathers.

Have a look at some of the best scenes from a cat fashion show that took place last night, the Algonquin Hotel in New York City. I honestly try not to keep an open mind and not to be too judgmental, but somehow this doesn’t turn out like anything but plane dumb. Why would anyone torture his pet, dress him up in uncomfortable costumes, trim his hair, in a word maltreat him and while doing so spend ridiculously vast amounts of money? I understand the people who do this definitely have too much money, but why don’t they donate some to charity instead of creating fashion shows for cats.

The Mullet A.K.A. ape drape, beaver paddle, bi-level, Camaro cut, business in the front party in the back, Canadian passport, al-camino, hockey hair, Kentucky waterfall, Missouri compromise, mudflap, neck warmer, ranchero, shlong (short+long), achy-breaky-big-mistakey, soccer rocker, squirrel pelt, Tennessee tophat, and a yep-nope, call it whatever you like, but IT became popular somewhere around 80s’ and even then it was terrible. Even Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing barely manages to pull that look off and not look completely ridiculous. But, apparently, there are people who find this extremely attractive. Meet them!

Origami is the art of folding any type of materials to create sculptural designs. And now the origami folding techniques are also used in the fashion industry. The designer Mauricio Velasquez Posada has created a series of origami dresses for a fashion show. It seems to me this isn’t the best outfit in case it rains, snows or anything like that. Also, it seems a little difficult to move in this kind of dress. Since these dresses are disposable, I hope the price is in accordance with that.

Here’s interesting set of images dealing with the “now and then” topic. It is really great watching these photos and comparing what some things used to look like and how they look now. It becomes obvious how much our taste and fashion have changed through time. Some things look much better now, and others actually looked better before. I don’t know if it is just nostalgia or did people really had better taste earlier. If you ask me actors and singers were definitely better before. I even feel bad for comparing Buddie Holy with Lady Gaga and Great Blues with Snoop Dogg, because they are hardly in the same category. I’m feeling a bit bad for even using the word fashion here, because these people are so far from it that it hurts! It so tacky, tasteless and terrible that it reminds me of a horrible car crash with dead bodies and blood all over the place, but for some peculiar reason you can’t look away, it’s like your eyes are stuck on that massacre and like you’re hypnotized. Well, it’s something like that with these photos too. These eccentric people were probably thinking that if they put enough of ugly things on themselves it will somehow magically turn around and become beautiful! Fashion has always been a bit strange and unusual. Artists and fashion creators were always trying to find the strangest and most original expression and new ways to shock the public. Have a look at this great collection of the weirdest fashion creations. Some of them are not so successful. For example this handbag with an implemented gun in it. I wouldn’t wear it on my first date!

Interesting vicodine earrings, if you feel any pain you can simply strip them down of your ears and swallow them! This way you’ll be both fashionable and calmed.

If you love being tanned and like having always new fashion creations, you can try out this special designed dress for getting tanned in chic and fashionable way.

I’m not sure what is the effect that the creator of these earrings was going for, but as far as I’m concerned it might as well be a campaign against smocking or cancer lungs awareness.
