As humans and the only animals in the Universe (for now, maybe soon we’ll discover new form of life somewhere out there) who are aware of their own transiency, we can’t help but obsess over death and think about it almost every day of our lives. There is nothing more frightening, nothing that shakes our very core more then the idea of perishing, simply disappearing, not existing one day. And all our thoughts and dreams, hopes and secret wishes will simply vanish, like they never existed in the first place. This pretty much scares the shit out of everybody.

Famous People of the Twentieth Century and Their Graves
Here’s one a bit odd topic – famous people of the twentieth century and the places where they were buried. It might be a little dark and twisted topic for the photo gallery, but I believe there are many people who will find this interesting. let’s see how the graves of the celebrities from the last century look like!

So long, and thanks for all the fish
The last words are very important, and usually we expect the ones that are leaving us behind to say something exceptional and eyeopening in their dying hour or even to give us the final answer to life, the Universe and everything else, but in most cases what happens is that the final words come out to be some trivia, like in The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams “So long, and thanks for all the fish!” Well, here are some of the great men and women and their final words. See if you find anything useful or something to live by there.
So long Tony Curtis
Great actor and artist, Tony Curtis, well known for many great roles, but maybe best known by his role in the movie “Some like it hot” with Marilyn Monroe, died on September 29th 2010 at age 85 because of a heart failure. Here is a collection of his photos for you to remember him at his best and some of a latter date when he’s already lost some of his good looks which, some say, is responsible for his great popularity during the fifties and sixties. Enjoy!
Dark and twisted world of Chris Cooksey
Would you dare to enter the dark and twisted world of Chris Cooksey with his unusual sculptures? Here are few images that show us his eccentric and erratic work. It is really not something that you see every day. Each one of his sculptures weather it presents a person or two, or a skeleton or some sort of vehicle is at the same time inhabitated by a vast number of small humans. It is like he is saying that those great one stand proudly and carry the whole humankind upon their shoulders. But what is the meaning behind the sculptures with bare bones and skeletons? Could it be that Chris Cooksey was trying to say that the inevitable idea of death is present in our minds and is following us wherever we go? That is where the war machinery would fit just fine. His sculptures are filled with details and they remind me of Bosch’s triptychs showing seven deadly sins.
Plush cruelty by Patricia Waller
Damn! I guess these girl Patricia Weller really doesn’t like plush and stuffed animals, I mean just have a look at these photos below and you’ll see what I’m talking about. She went through all that trouble of making a beautiful, cute an lovely plush toys only to kill them latter on and then, like the act of killing them wasn’t enough, she had to take a triumphal salvage in form of morbid photos! Just kidding! I really like here blunt and thoughtless cruelty.
Children of war
The generation, born from 1928 to 1945 didn’t have a childhood, it was stolen from them by those sad years of World War II. They are also called “Children of the Great Patriotic War”, but there’s nothing great about that if you ask me. All I can see on these images are sadness, orphans, dead people and grief. Take a deep breath and have a look at these disturbing black and white historic images.

Happy Father Turns into a Drug Addict
Here’s one really sad story. I’m not sure if these photos are for real, but if they are then this is one really depressive story of a guy who used to be family man, happy father of two with beautiful wife, and then for some reason turned to drugs, became and addict, got AIDS and finally died because of it. Even if these photos weren’t true, there are many stories out there that are exactly like this one.
