Most of us are using perfumes and cosmetics on daily basis, and we usually never bother to read the labels and see all the ingredients of the products we apply on our body, but now and then we should probably find time to do so. We could get really surprised with the amount of grouse and bizarre organic materials that are being used for making cosmetic products. Here goes the list of top 10 weirdest, most bizarre and disgusting perfume and cosmetic ingredients.

1. Placenta

The life giving uterus lining expelled after birth has been used in some beauty care products for years. Various manufacturers claim it helps stimulate tissue growth, reduces wrinkles and is good for your hair. Unfortunately, none of those claims have ever been proven.

2. Whale vomit

This material called Ambergris is useful as a fixative in perfumes. It has a sweet, earthy odor and is usually found washed up on a beach in South America or Australia. It has mostly been replaced by synthetic alternatives.

Squid make for a tasty meal for sperm whales, but the whales can’t digest the squid’s beak. So their whaley intestines cloak the beaks in a paste. The whales then spit the paste-coated beaks into the ocean, and the salt in the water and the sun in the sky give the paste its odor. Just watching this guy talk about it is fascinating.

3. Cochineal beetles

When you need a nice red color, you can drown a few of these buggers in some hot water, dry them out and pulverize them. The deep crimson dye is versatile enough to be used in skin creams, lipsticks and almost any other beauty product.

4. Human breast milk

It could be a gimmick but there are many people who use mother’s breast milk to produce soaps on a local or small scale. According to them a soap made from mother’s milk is excellent for skin.Is this something you would try?

5. Civet

Civet is a small, lithe-bodied, mostly nocturnal mammal native to tropical Asia and Africa, especially the tropical forests. The most well-known civet species is the African Civet, Civettictis civetta, which historically has been the main species from which was obtained a musky scent used in perfumery. The word civet may also refer to the distinctive musky scent produced by the animals.

According to the Guardian civet is “a fecal paste extracted from the anal glands of the civet cat.” In this video, a man discusses what raw civet oil smells like: “A mixture of a cat’s spray marking its territory and a dirty litter box — just fecal, and just pungent.”

6. Bull semen

Want shiny hair? Then a few salons in Europe think they have exactly what you need. Protein from bull semen is supposed to give amazing results. I’m skeptical it will give you anything more than a stiff hair cut like Cameron Diaz in Something About Marry.

7. Chicken bone marrow

Chicken bone marrow is supposed to be a good source of glucosamine but how that helps your cosmetic remains a mystery. But people still use chicken bone marrow but they rarely advertise it as such.

8. Castoreum (beaver balls)

Both beaver testicles and castoreum, a bitter-tasting secretion with a slightly fetid odor contained in the castor sacs of male or female beaver, have been articles of trade for use in traditional medicine. Castoreum continues to be used in perfume production.

Castoreum is a substance extracted from dried beaver balls. Apparently on its own, this substance has an unpleasant pungent scent, but once diluted can be quite pleasant, and is used commonly in men’s cologne to give it a leathery, smokey smell. In this video, a woman holds and discusses a pair of dried beaver balls.

9. Snake venom

One of the most ridiculous new ingredients for keeping wrinkles at bay is snake venom. Cosmetic makers who use this stuff hope that you’ll connect the Botox poison with snake poison and figure both must work wonders on wrinkles. Despite what Jamie Pressly might think, snake venom hasn’t been shown to have any positive improvement in wrinkle creams.

10. Human foreskin

Looking for the fountain of youth? Look no further than foreskin. It probably sounds a little bit gross, and probably a little bit unethical to some, but human foreskin is actually used by numerous cosmetic companies around the world. In the medical field, human foreskin has been used for years as a method to cultivate new skin growth, instead of performing skin graphs on burn patients. It’s been proven to work much more effectively. The same method is also used in the cosmetics world. Companies, the most notable being SkinMedica, use foreskin fibroblasts in cosmetic creams and collagens, especially those made to reduce wrinkles. It is said that one piece of foreskin from a baby boy can be used to create about 4 acres of new skin

In Birmingham, after sundown it is against the law for a man and woman to partake in sexual intercourse on church steps. Therefor, I can only assume that it is perfectly legal during the day, or if the participants aren’t man and woman.

5. The right to bite

This one is unfortunately no longer valid. In England in 1837, if a man kissed a woman against her will, she could legally bit off his nose.

6. No Welsh in Chester

In Chester, the Welsh are banned before sun up and after the sun down.

7. Also, no Scotsman in York

In York, it is legal to kill a Scotsman within the ancient city boundary, but only if he is carrying a bow and arrow.

8. A barrel of rum when you enter London Port

Navy ships that enter London Port must provide a barrel of rum to the Constable of the Tower of London.

9. Dead whale on the British coast

If a dead whale is found on the British coast, the head is legally the property of the King, and the tail belongs to the Queen – to use the bones for corsets.

10. Bizarre taxi law 1

In London, it is illegal for a City cab to carry rabid dogs or corpses. So, you’re gonna have to find another means of transport if you want to get rid of dead bodies. Also, if you want to take your rabid dog to the vet.

11. Bizarre taxi law 2

In London, it is illegal to flag down a taxi if you have plague. If you get plague, you should probably walk to the nearest hospital, because taking a cab might get you in prison. I like how the same rules apply both for dogs and humans.

12. Bizarre taxi law 3

But if you really want to take a cab in some of these situations mentioned above, you can twist your cabdrivers hand by reminding him that according to UK legislation, each city cab must carry a bale of hay at all times.

1. A Chicken In The Oven

People who work in emergency rooms bear witness to most bizarre and unusual things that most of us could never even dream of. For example, one woman was admitted to the ER complaining of abdominal pain. When doctors took a closer look they discovered an entire chicken in her vagina. One of them involved an elderly woman complaining she had vines growing out of her “virginny.” No, it was not an exceptionally long thatch of pubic hair, it was a vine growing from the potato plant in her vagina. She put it in there to keep her sagging uterus in place.

5. D.W.S.: Driving While Shaving

A Florida woman caused a serious car crash when she decided to shave her vaj while driving. Interesting decision, yes, but that’s not even the weirdest part of the story. She was on her way to Key West where she would be vacationing with her boyfriend but her ex-husband was in the passenger seat of her Thunderbird. I demand an explanation. Now!

6. Not A Purse

There are lots of things that are inappropriate to store in your vagina. Some of them include heroin, prescription pills, and loose bills and change. Pennsylvania woman, Karin Mackaliunas, didn’t get the memo about not using your vagina as a purse.

7. Hide And Seek!

Vaginas make bad purses but even worse hiding spots. A woman checked into the ER with pelvic pain. Doctors removed a set of car keys from down there. She didn’t want her boyfriend taking the car so she hid them in a place where “he never goes.” Theirs does not sound like a good relationship.

8. Locked And Loaded

A woman made her OB-GYN sweat when an X-Ray revealed that her vagina was locked and loaded. The doctor performed emergency surgery so the woman wouldn’t shoot her uterus only to discover that it was not actually a gun. It was a cigarette lighter shaped like a gun, a companion to the crack pipe … also in her vagina. Charming!

First of all, lets look at some facts:

What Causes a Hangover?

The ethanol contained in alcoholic beverages has a dehydrating effect which causes headaches, dry mouth and tiredness. This effect can be lessened by drinking plenty of water before and throughout your night of drinking. Your liver breaks this ethanol down and the resulting chemical reactions impair the liver’s ability to supply glucose to tissues, in particular to the brain. Glucose is responsible for the brain’s energy and the lack thereof results in fatigue, weakness, moodiness and decreased attention.

Ridiculous Hangover Remedies

Each respectable culture that enjoys drinking to excess has its own hangover cure.

1. Lemon in the Armpits

Apparently some Puerto Ricans (and other citrusy fresh people) swear by this method. While I’ve read a few different opinions, the general belief is that you need to rub a slice of lemon in the armpit of your drinking arm before you start boozing. I’m not sure if it works, but at least you’ll smell fresh and fruity while drinking till oblivion.

2. Squeezing Cucumbers in Russian Sauna

Since Russians are one of the world’s biggest drinkers, it’s worth looking into their ways of getting rid of the hangover. Well, they happen to steam out their toxins in a sauna of course. Also, they say you need to drink the juice squeezed from a cucumber. I don’t know how they manage to do this in sauna!

3. Irish Burial

The Irish cure? Well they’re said “to bury the ailing person in moist river sand.” It’s not exactly clear if they keep the head above ground, or if this is simply the easiest way to get rid of the weakest drinkers. (Please, keep in mind that we deliberately looked for the least reliable sources)

4. Sicilian Sausage

I was having second thought whether to put this one in the list, but I guess the people who instituted organized crime probably know something about alcohol. Apparently, Sicilians believe that all you have to do after a wild night of drinking is eat a dried bull’s penis. Yep, that’s it. Plain and simple.

5. Jog ‘n’ Lick

They say Native Americans would run around in the morning to get sweaty after a hard night on the village. Next step? They would then lick their sweat and spit it out, to get rid of the ‘poison’. (If you weren’t puking till now, you’ll probably start.)

6. Voodoo

Is there anything more reliable than voodoo? This is usually my first thought the morning after heavy drinking, because magic trumps logic every time. Haitian voodoo people are said to recommend sticking 13 black pins in the cork of the offending bottle. It makes prefect sense.

7. Bloody Mongolian Mary

The hangover cure for heavy drinkers in outer Mongolia is “a pair of pickled sheep’s eyes in tomato juice.” Sounds probably as disgusting as it tastes. I wonder if they put them on a stirring stick like olives and serve aside with drinks.

8. 2 Cowboys 1 Cup

Cowboys in the Wild West, back in the old days used to drink a cup of fresh tea the morning after binge. Oh? That actually sounds nice… But, wait! Do you know what the secret ingredient was? It were rabbit droppings! Apparently, cowboys swore by drinking a cup of rabbit poo tea.

Lets Recap:

1. Most of the people drink to the excess and tomorrow feel like crap, but they do it anyway.
2. It is scientifically proven that it is impossible to avoid feeling like this and that there is really little you can to to help yourself, once you’re in this miserable state.
3. Still, people around the world keep eating awful stuff and doing ridiculous things.
4. Alcohol causes you to make poor decisions, therefore…

1. Legend of Oily Johnnies, Winscales, Workington

OK, I’m not even going to begin explaining my associations and the thing that first comes to my dirty mind when I hear about the “Oily Johnnies”, and apparently there is some sort of legend about them as well. It would be great to hear it, but I’m not sure if I would still fancy drinking my beer in this pub.

2. Q, Stalybridge, Cheshire

Apparently the old chaps that own this pub woke up without their creativity the morning they were supposed to name their pub, or they drank too much beer, and they forgot the original name, but they remembered it started with the letter Q, which was enough to register the place. It might be the symbol for the queen, I mean, we are in the England after all, but it seems to easy.

3. The Bucket of Blood, Phillack, Cornwall

Now, this really wakes my appetite! If it didn’t know the pub was in Phillack, Cornwall, I would have taken it for some pub from the HBO TV show True Blood.

4. The Bunch of Carrots, Hampton Bishop, Hertfordshire

Judging by this pub’s name, the owners took care of the thirsty traveler as well as of his ride, because they seem to have had, besides standard offer in liquor, also a treat for the horse, a bunch of carrots ready to strengthen any tired steed

5. The Case is Altered, location unkown

Before entering this pub, the hanging sing over the door lets you know the case is altered, and here things are now completely different. They are serving independent guest beers, including Hook Norton Ales. It’s good to know, I really feel like a pint of good old Hook Norton Ales, whatever that is. And those guest beers don’t sound too bad, as well.

6. The Cat and Custard Pot, Paddlesworth, Kent

The Cat and the Custard Pot sounds absolutely ridiculously to me, but on the positive side it is exceptionally distinctive and it’s really hard getting the image of a cat with her head stuck in a custard pot agonizing and trying to break free out of your mind. This is what I call good marketing.

7. The Crooked Billet, Old Leigh, Essex

Whom are the owners trying to lure into visiting their pub with a name like this? Maybe some romantic lumberjack, with sweet memories of some long forsaken crooked billet that he was trying to cut down and carve into a shelf.

8. The Kremlin, Clee Hill, Shropshire

This isn’t really bizarre name, maybe only because this beer pouring pub is in the middle of England, while the Kremlin is a historic fortified complex at the heart of Moscow. Still, it’s not so bad, considering that the Russian people are worldwide known for their deep appreciation toward the alcohol. True, they prefer vodka, but beer’s OK too.

9. The Old 13th Cheshire Rifleman Corps Inn, Stalybridge, Cheshire

The Old 13th Cheshire Rifleman Corps Inn is one of my absolute favorites. Judging by this genius name, there are at least twelve more rifleman corps inns. That’s a lot of inns, and a whole lot of dead corps, the result of this legendary rifleman’s hard and painstaking work.

10. The Swan with Two Necks, Sheffield, South Yorkshire

This poor swan must be radiation victim, or is it just a cunning method of the owners for getting rid of the tiring visitors by convincing them they are obviously too drunk to have another pint since they are seeing the swan from the sign with two heads.

11. Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, Nottingham

This is the perfect spot for refreshing and recovering your strength on the long way to Jerusalem. I’m not really sure if drinking beer is really in accordance with the idea of pilgrimage, but it’s not like we’re really going to the Jerusalem, so I don’t see why not.

Although from afar it might look like just a dusty deserted lot lined with wooden tables, as you approach and see the piles of heads, tails, skins and limbs of various animals, you realize you’ve arrived at Akodessewa Fetish Market. You’re soon greeted by the place’s voodoo chief who offers to give you a tour of the market, and before you know it you’re bargaining over an ape paw or a gazelle head. It’s a crazy place, and the people here know how to get under your skin and make you buy at least a souvenir. Voodoo merchants have products gathered from all over West Africa and no matter your problem they’re bound to have something for you. They claim they can help everybody in the world, and whenever someone has a problem and runs out of options they come to Akodessewa to look for solutions.

Couples that can’t have babies, goalkeepers who want to do wonders in a football match, people who want extra stamina to run a marathon, they can all be helped at the world’s biggest voodoo market. All it takes is a black powder made from ground up animal parts and herbs that has to be rubbed into the flesh of the “patient”. Sure the person has to be cut on the chest or back three times before they apply the magic powder, but you didn’t need to know that.

Even if you’re not into voodoo, the Akodessewa Fetish Market is one of those exotic attractions that pulls you in and doesn’t let go. If you don’t like animal heads staring at you, you can just check out the protective statues and talismans, or learn about the various herbs voodoo priests use. As the merchants say, there’s something here for everybody.

And when asked if he is being concerned about the child’s health, the father (30-year-old) said that the kid looks quite healthy to him! Little Ardi, besides from being a heavy smoker is also very obese and he can’t keep up running around with the other kids so he keeps rolling by on his small toy car all day long looking like a mobster or a narco boss!

I don’t know about you, but if you ask me this kid is a real bad-@$$! I can only imagine what will he turn out into when he enters the puberty. Just imagine that – this parents that can’t control their own child at the age of two and what will they do when the kid grows up a bit more? And how long will this poor child live and what quality of life he may have without health and with such moronic parents?

Just to paint you a picture of how bizarre this all situation is I’ll tell you that the little Ardi smokes up to 40 cigarettes per day! Can you imagine that? He even beats my aunt who is a really heavy smoker all of her life.

Well, apparently, that wasn’t kinky and weird enough for someone’s sophisticated taste, so he decided to make this bizarre and unnatural composite by combining parts of different animals’ bodies and that way created the ugliest and scariest sculptures that I’ve ever seen.

This bizarre collection of animals, that existed maybe only in Greek mythology, was in possession of adventurist from Victorian period, who’s name is professor Copperthwaite and who traveled around the whole world in the 19th century. Now it’s pieces are getting transported and are being prepared for an auction.

I can’t really realize who and for what reason would buy and keep in his house something as disturbing as these stuffed animals. It would simply make me feel unease. This is definitely not my cup of tea, but who likes it, let him go for it with all his means.

The collection contains unicorn, Bigfoot, flying cat, and other strange creatures. After the first owner’s death the animals became part of the Museum of Taxidermy, but now it has been closed due to the lack of visitors (I wonder why) and therefor the whole collection is going to be sold under the hammer of an auction.
