Did you ever wonder what it would look like if ordinary looking men were calendar models? Well, ready or not here it comes! I have to admit that it’s not really an impressive view, but we fought for equality between man and women and here it is. Of course, I’m just kidding, because women on the calendars are real models all super hot and everything, and these men here are just ordinary guys with big beer stomachs and completely out of shape. The comparison could only be right if there were side by side male and female models, but it wouldn’t be quite right even then. The problem seems to be the fact that women don’t really keep this sort of calendars on their walls, while many men do.
I mean, just enter any mechanics workshop and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Some will say that it is because man are more visual beings by their nature, but I think it is a cultural thing. Women aren’t simply raised that way. Just think about your early childhood and how different it was for you (if you are a man) and your sister. There is the saying “Boys will be boys” and by that there are many pranks and naughty deeds that can pass by. On the other hand there is no such saying for girls and aside from expecting from them to always be perfectly moderate and modest, no parent will ever try to weaken up his daughter’s sexuality. Quite opposite, it is roughly repressed and everybody is acting like it doesn’t exist at all.
And then, when a girl grows up and turns into a woman the mainstream mass media (television, magazines, music, movies, and the internet) provide increasingly frequent portrayals of sexuality. All of a sudden it is expected from a woman to act completely different from the way she has been taught and raised all of her life. It’s really weird and bizarre when you think about it and it brings women into schizoid behavior and confusion.
Now, I know these photos didn’t tend to start this feminist discussion, the point was probably simply and only for fun, but somehow I needed to put this out and now, after saying what’s on my mind, I can finally look at these photos and smile. I hope you’ll find these photos funny too and you’ll understand why I had to write all this above. I think tha captions are the best!
