Most of us are using perfumes and cosmetics on daily basis, and we usually never bother to read the labels and see all the ingredients of the products we apply on our body, but now and then we should probably find time to do so. We could get really surprised with the amount of grouse and bizarre organic materials that are being used for making cosmetic products. Here goes the list of top 10 weirdest, most bizarre and disgusting perfume and cosmetic ingredients.

1. Placenta

The life giving uterus lining expelled after birth has been used in some beauty care products for years. Various manufacturers claim it helps stimulate tissue growth, reduces wrinkles and is good for your hair. Unfortunately, none of those claims have ever been proven.

2. Whale vomit

This material called Ambergris is useful as a fixative in perfumes. It has a sweet, earthy odor and is usually found washed up on a beach in South America or Australia. It has mostly been replaced by synthetic alternatives.

Squid make for a tasty meal for sperm whales, but the whales can’t digest the squid’s beak. So their whaley intestines cloak the beaks in a paste. The whales then spit the paste-coated beaks into the ocean, and the salt in the water and the sun in the sky give the paste its odor. Just watching this guy talk about it is fascinating.

3. Cochineal beetles

When you need a nice red color, you can drown a few of these buggers in some hot water, dry them out and pulverize them. The deep crimson dye is versatile enough to be used in skin creams, lipsticks and almost any other beauty product.

4. Human breast milk

It could be a gimmick but there are many people who use mother’s breast milk to produce soaps on a local or small scale. According to them a soap made from mother’s milk is excellent for skin.Is this something you would try?

5. Civet

Civet is a small, lithe-bodied, mostly nocturnal mammal native to tropical Asia and Africa, especially the tropical forests. The most well-known civet species is the African Civet, Civettictis civetta, which historically has been the main species from which was obtained a musky scent used in perfumery. The word civet may also refer to the distinctive musky scent produced by the animals.

According to the Guardian civet is “a fecal paste extracted from the anal glands of the civet cat.” In this video, a man discusses what raw civet oil smells like: “A mixture of a cat’s spray marking its territory and a dirty litter box — just fecal, and just pungent.”

6. Bull semen

Want shiny hair? Then a few salons in Europe think they have exactly what you need. Protein from bull semen is supposed to give amazing results. I’m skeptical it will give you anything more than a stiff hair cut like Cameron Diaz in Something About Marry.

7. Chicken bone marrow

Chicken bone marrow is supposed to be a good source of glucosamine but how that helps your cosmetic remains a mystery. But people still use chicken bone marrow but they rarely advertise it as such.

8. Castoreum (beaver balls)

Both beaver testicles and castoreum, a bitter-tasting secretion with a slightly fetid odor contained in the castor sacs of male or female beaver, have been articles of trade for use in traditional medicine. Castoreum continues to be used in perfume production.

Castoreum is a substance extracted from dried beaver balls. Apparently on its own, this substance has an unpleasant pungent scent, but once diluted can be quite pleasant, and is used commonly in men’s cologne to give it a leathery, smokey smell. In this video, a woman holds and discusses a pair of dried beaver balls.

9. Snake venom

One of the most ridiculous new ingredients for keeping wrinkles at bay is snake venom. Cosmetic makers who use this stuff hope that you’ll connect the Botox poison with snake poison and figure both must work wonders on wrinkles. Despite what Jamie Pressly might think, snake venom hasn’t been shown to have any positive improvement in wrinkle creams.

10. Human foreskin

Looking for the fountain of youth? Look no further than foreskin. It probably sounds a little bit gross, and probably a little bit unethical to some, but human foreskin is actually used by numerous cosmetic companies around the world. In the medical field, human foreskin has been used for years as a method to cultivate new skin growth, instead of performing skin graphs on burn patients. It’s been proven to work much more effectively. The same method is also used in the cosmetics world. Companies, the most notable being SkinMedica, use foreskin fibroblasts in cosmetic creams and collagens, especially those made to reduce wrinkles. It is said that one piece of foreskin from a baby boy can be used to create about 4 acres of new skin

But judging by the looks of it, they’re running out of stuff to make weird, so they’re starting to steal good ideas and turn them bad. Here are the twelve best (or worst) examples we could find.

Alarm Clocks

OK, so there are only a few things in the world that, no matter how hard anybody tries, you can’t possibly ruin. What things? Well, for starters, there’s sex, chocolate, beer, The Dark Knight, and the faithful humble alarm clock. Wait, what was that last one? Forget it guys, Japan went there.

This is the Helicopter Alarm Clock, something which represents both the insanity of Japan and their unmatched inventiveness when it comes to naming things. How it works is simple: you set the time, go to sleep and dream about Japanese people dream about (Pokemon and the Emperor probably), and then it goes off with an unholy racket, the top propeller flies off, and decapitates your cat. And then, you actually need to get out of bed, find the propeller amongst the remains of your ex-feline ex-friend, and then plug it back in before the damn thing will shut up.

Still, it’s better than some other designs…

Pro-tip: Getting arrested because your neighbour thinks you’re waving a gun around is never ever fun, more-so at 7am. Hope the police let you put on some pants before throwing you into the back of the patrol car.

Houses

We here at Artsy Swag believe in two things; firstly, boobies. Secondly, we believe in not over-explaining our jokes, so coming up now is a selection of strange freaky buildings whose weirdness just speaks for itself.

Is it just us or does that last one have the face of a child? A demonic child, what with the glowing red porch, but a child none the less.

Cars

Ruining the car is near-impossible. We, after all, invented ‘Pimp My Ride’, a show where Xhibit borrowed people’s cars, shoved them into a workshop, and brought them out looking they’d just covered the car in glue and rolled it into a pile of plasma TV’s. Like a Katamari Damacy made of chrome plating. But, no. It seems Japan isn’t even going to let us have this.

Using this on the morning commute will only ensure one thing you spend the entire time reciting lines from Back to the Future; “You callin’ me chicken?” (used when some dickwad in a Toyota cuts you up on the highway), “Where we’re going, we don’t need roads!” (used when you daydream about not getting stuck in a two-hour long traffic jam by having your car turn into a B52 and carpet-bomb everyone else), and especially if you live in Europe, “I hate manure!” (because, y’know, there’s tonnes of that shit there, no pun intended).

But, then your co-worker pulls up next to you in this:

Yeah, that’s a car made of bamboo. Suddenly, you don’t feel so stupid now do you?

Food

“Seriously?”, you might be asking now to no-one who gives a shit; “how could they have ruined food for christsakes?” Well…

Yeah. That’s how. Before you call bullshit on that by the way, that is an actual real thing that they sell over there. Although to be honest, we can’t ever think of a situation where you’d need it. People who like to make sandwiches on the subway? Lube fetishists who like their toys really lubed up? Obese people? Please, someone tell us. Although actually, thinking about it, practical jokesters could have a field day with this in art lessons. That’s not a hint by the way: that’s an order to do this right now.

Still, it can’t get weirder right?

Oh come on.

Sex

Right, we’re not going to sit here and write a massive introduction which says that Japan hasn’t ruined sex, and then reveal that, OMG, they have. Instead, we’re just going to leave this here:

Yes, they’re vibrators made in the shape of appear to be vegetables. We think at least. Although, the second one does look like the penis of The Incredible Hulk, so maybe there’s a big market previously-untapped market for ‘The Avengers’ sex toys over there.

Look at it this way; ‘Hawkeye’ could totally unplug that vibrator from his phone in the heat of battle and shoot it at someone like an arrow made of inappropriateness. You might have also noticed a running theme here amongst these Japanese sex toys, in that there’s not a lot of actual sex going on, only self-love. Wonder why? Because they also sell these:

Looking at it is guaranteed to ensure that you never, ever do anything that could ever result in something like that being born. Ever.

1. A Chicken In The Oven

People who work in emergency rooms bear witness to most bizarre and unusual things that most of us could never even dream of. For example, one woman was admitted to the ER complaining of abdominal pain. When doctors took a closer look they discovered an entire chicken in her vagina. She explained that she was not able to have children and was hoping the chicken would turn into a baby. Maybe she just wasn’t cooking her chicken/baby at the proper temperature. Or maybe chickens should come with a warning: not safe for vaginal insertion.

2. A Fire Between Her Legs

Next time you’re chopping hot peppers and stop to take a break to change your tampon, make sure to wash your hands really, really thoroughly lest you should get hot pepper juice on your labia. 3. The Ski Douche

Thank God I have no interest in water sports. But for those of you who do, beware the “ski douche” or “ski enema.” That is polite way of explaining what happens when a water skier falls backward into the water with such great speed and force that it causes a flood of water to rush into the vagina and cause lacerations. You don’t have to tell me twice. I’m so not going to water ski anytime soon.

4. The Garden Of Eden

Dr. Sharon Orange shared some of the most interesting ER stories. One of them involved an elderly woman complaining she had vines growing out of her “virginny.” No, it was not an exceptionally long thatch of pubic hair, it was a vine growing from the potato plant in her vagina. She put it in there to keep her sagging uterus in place.

5. D.W.S.: Driving While Shaving

A Florida woman caused a serious car crash when she decided to shave her vaj while driving. Interesting decision, yes, but that’s not even the weirdest part of the story. She was on her way to Key West where she would be vacationing with her boyfriend but her ex-husband was in the passenger seat of her Thunderbird. I demand an explanation. Now!

6. Not A Purse

There are lots of things that are inappropriate to store in your vagina. Some of them include heroin, prescription pills, and loose bills and change. Pennsylvania woman, Karin Mackaliunas, didn’t get the memo about not using your vagina as a purse.

7. Hide And Seek!

Vaginas make bad purses but even worse hiding spots. A woman checked into the ER with pelvic pain. Doctors removed a set of car keys from down there. She didn’t want her boyfriend taking the car so she hid them in a place where “he never goes.” Theirs does not sound like a good relationship.

8. Locked And Loaded

A woman made her OB-GYN sweat when an X-Ray revealed that her vagina was locked and loaded. The doctor performed emergency surgery so the woman wouldn’t shoot her uterus only to discover that it was not actually a gun. It was a cigarette lighter shaped like a gun, a companion to the crack pipe … also in her vagina. Charming!

1. Butt Lifters

Apparently, women have problems with their butts, because they think they are too big, while men, on the other hand, want to enlarge this part of their bodies. It is not so weird, because in our Western culture there is a strong connection between height and power. Whether we want to admit it or not, there is deeply ingrained prejudices about short men. We expect the tall to be bore successful in their life, carriers, family life and romance.

4. Spray paint the bald away!

Yes, you read it right! Just apply this spray on your bald spot and you’re good to go. I don’t know why men have such hard time accepting they’re going bald. But this is by far, the dumbest and worst cover-up method.

5. Ab Etching

Look what they’ve came up with! Instead of working out hard, and sweating like a pig for months to get their six pack, there are guys who decided it would be much easier and faster to pay a surgeon to make them perfect abs!

6. Pectoral Implants

This is the male version of getting big boobs. At least in the eyes of plastic surgery we are equal! You can see how it looks in the image above, for the ab etching.

7. The Wonderjock

This is basically the male equivalent of The Wonderbra, i.e. padded “manties.” As much as we try to convince them that size doesn’t matter, they are absolutely positive that it does and would even wear crotch pads in their pants to look more naturally endowed.

8. ManSpanx

Oh, good. The notorious “body-shaping” underwear is now available for men. You can snag a “Cotton Compression Undershirt, and get a six-pack and hard pecs right now! The only concession? Being able to breathe. But then, women have been going without that silly little respiration thing for centuries.

9. Chin Cleft Surgery

You know what is also adorable beside dimples? Yes, chin cleft! And of course, there is a plastic surgery that will make you look like Ben Affleck’s twin brother, or cousin.

All it takes is a black powder made from ground up animal parts and herbs that has to be rubbed into the flesh of the “patient”. Sure the person has to be cut on the chest or back three times before they apply the magic powder, but you didn’t need to know that.

Even if you’re not into voodoo, the Akodessewa Fetish Market is one of those exotic attractions that pulls you in and doesn’t let go. If you don’t like animal heads staring at you, you can just check out the protective statues and talismans, or learn about the various herbs voodoo priests use. As the merchants say, there’s something here for everybody.

Maybe they feel safer and it is easier to them to trust these people because they already look so familiar, like they’ve already seen them somewhere. And somehow it never occurs to them that they really did see these people already – in the mirror, every morning when they wash their pretty faces.

Paint ball wedding, so classy...

Some people we expect to have bad taste and organize cheap and tacky weddings and there’s no surprises at all. But the strangest thing is when you see some wedding dresses that were actually created by world famous fashion designers, like Jean Paul Gaultier, Vera Wang, etc, that look absolutely hideous. What were they thinking? Maybe those are “high fashion” models made just as a from of artistic expression, and were not meant to be worn at all.

Can she even walk in this?

Another white trash wedding. I have to say the bride looks absolutely charming… for a grizzly bear.

This looks like something Lady Gaga would wear for her wedding. I only fear that now, since it is already seen online, she will have to find something even more bizarre to top this dress and be the ultimate winner on the freakishly looking brides competition.

Wow! Now this look is the absolute winner in tastelessness and tackiness. She looks like a porn star. I hope this is the outfit she kept for the first wedding night and only for her groom’s eyes.

Vera Wang is loosing it, if you ask me… The poor model wearing the dress looks like a complete fruit cake that her family decided to marry off without her even realizing what is going on.

The peacock bride decided to carry a baby instead of boring old flowers that every bride carries. Cute unique idea…

Where does a wedding take place if not in a cathedral, and when that was canceled, the bride decided to herself do the impression of one.

NOw, this one is a bit more moderate. The bride does not preset the whole cathedral, just the wedding bells.

This charming young couple decided to get married in their birth suit. They just put some body paint and make up and are ready to go. I especially appreciate the bride’s ringers. It brings so much elegance to her look.

Why is her dress so torn out? I guess the designer was trying to achieve that romantic fluttering effect, but the result was quite opposite. The bride looks like she’s just been in a cat fight.

LOL! This is the most ridiculous wedding dress I’ve ever seen. Poor bride needs so many assistants while standing still. I wonder what will the first dance look like.

I don’t know about you, but to me this seems tacky and simply too much. Could it possibly be that someone has to much gold and diamonds and doesn’t know where to put it? Maybe they’ve covered themselves from head to toe in jewelry and only the eye ball has left without any ornaments. And on top of all that, it doesn’t even look nice. The person wearing this kind of jewelry looks like a vampire or something like that. I ‘m sorry India, but this is simply too much for the West.

Owen Hart, WWF (now WWE) wrestler, died when he fell 78 feet while being lowered into the ring by a cable from the stadium rafters before an upcoming match. He had been scheduled to win the WWF Intercontinental Championship that night. (1999)

24. Wasn’t that just part of the act?

Tommy Cooper, British magician, died on stage at Her Majesty’s Theatre during a live television routine. Most of the audience and viewers believed it was part of his act. (1984)

25. Nasty weather for this environmentalist

American environmentalist Timothy Treadwell, self-proclaimed “eco-warrior” that had lived in the wilderness among bears for thirteen summers in a remote portion of Alaska, was killed and partially consumed along with his girlfriend Amie Huguenard after they had been slated to leave due to the impending harsh fall/winter in Alaska. The critically-acclaimed documentary film Grizzly Man, dealing with this weird death was directed by Werner Herzog and released in 2005. (2003)

Before becoming a living sushi platter, the person (usually a woman) is trained to lie down for hours without moving. She or he must also be able to withstand the prolonged exposure to the cold food. Before service, the individual is supposed to have taken a bath using a special fragrance-free soap and then finished off with a splash of cold water to cool the body down somewhat for the sushi. In some parts of the world, in order to comply with sanitation laws, there must be a layer of plastic or other material between the sushi and the body of the woman or man.

Promoters, eating participants, and proponents of the practice often say that nyotaimori is a form of art. This argument is rejected by some feminists, who argue that it objectifies the woman or the man doing the serving. Guardian columnist Julie Bindel notes that the women being used to serve the food, on at least one occasion in London, looked “as if in a morgue, ­awaiting a postmortem.”

Worldwide reception varies. For public health reasons, China has outlawed food served on naked bodies. Tickets for naked sushi night may cost around US$75, which may include sushi, sake and champagne. Others, such as that attended by Bindel, may cost £250. South African entrepreneur Kenny Kunene’s birthday party on 21 October 2010 that hosted ANCYL president Julius Malema and featured nyotaimori was criticised by COSATU secretary general Zwelinzima Vavi, leading to a political row. Also, the ANCWL condemned nyotaimori at Kunene’s party as “an attack on the bodily integrity and dignity of women” in South Africa.

Apparently there are many controversies when it comes to nyotaimori or “body sushi”. Many find it repulsive, deviant, unhygienic and demeaning to women, but there are others who find it to be the ultimate form of artistic expression and amazing oriental tradition that says so much about the Japanese culture. Who do you stand a side with and with whom would you agree? I have to admit I’m a bit of a conservative and find putting raw meat of warm human body to be an excellent idea if you want bacteria to develop faster, but that’s just me. What do you think about this?

Malee Duangdee from Thailand

She is 17 year-old and 6 feet 10 inches tall. Her stature is due to a tumour on her pituitary gland which makes her body produce too much growth hormone. Malee had two unsuccessful operations to remove the tumor and her only hope is a tumor-shrinking drug which her father, a poorly paid laborer, cannot afford.

He is 19 year-old and 7 feet 3 inches tall and he may continue to grow until he is 21. When he was born, he was 23 inches long, and doctors knew as soon as they saw the size of his feet that he would be unusually tall.

It is as bad as it sound, but nevertheless here’s what one famous coffee critic Chris Rubin has said about this sort of coffee: “The aroma is rich and strong, and the coffee is incredibly full bodied, almost syrupy. It’s thick with a hint of chocolate, and lingers on the tongue with a long, clean aftertaste”.

The point is that coffee after this “process” doesn’t have that bitter taste because when a civet eats the berries in its stomach, proteolytic enzymes seep into the beans, making shorter peptides and more free amino acids. Still, no matter how good it might taste I wouldn’t dare to try it after seeing how it’s made.

Innovative product GO made the present furor and brought international fame to its creators. Alcoholic drinks in colored tubes are being exported to 15 countries, and in 2007 appeared on sale in the U.S. and Australia.

This small aluminum tubes could easily be mistaken for lip glow and can fit any lady’s purse. I’m not saying that all the women of the world should go out and get wasted, but at least now, they won’t look like punks dragging the whole bottle.

And when asked if he is being concerned about the child’s health, the father (30-year-old) said that the kid looks quite healthy to him! Little Ardi, besides from being a heavy smoker is also very obese and he can’t keep up running around with the other kids so he keeps rolling by on his small toy car all day long looking like a mobster or a narco boss!

I don’t know about you, but if you ask me this kid is a real bad-@$$! I can only imagine what will he turn out into when he enters the puberty. Just imagine that – this parents that can’t control their own child at the age of two and what will they do when the kid grows up a bit more? And how long will this poor child live and what quality of life he may have without health and with such moronic parents?

Just to paint you a picture of how bizarre this all situation is I’ll tell you that the little Ardi smokes up to 40 cigarettes per day! Can you imagine that? He even beats my aunt who is a really heavy smoker all of her life.
